The 12 Days of Broadband are back for 2023!

From Dec. 7 - Dec. 22, The 12 Days of Broadband will feature a dozen stories on how broadband positively impacts communities in North Carolina as well as previews what’s to come in 2024.

The 12 Days of Broadband annually showcases how investments in network infrastructure, bandwidth, technology, cybersecurity and other value-added services can help ensure digital equity and inclusion for all citizens throughout North Carolina. 

In preparation for our 2023 edition, feel free to reflect on our previous dozen years as we continue working every day to level the playing field all across the state with high-speed connectivity.

High-speed internet is essential to the daily lives of North Carolina citizens. The 12 Days of Broadband is all about sharing stories from within our communities to show how being connected has made a positive impact in the lives of the people we serve. We hope you enjoy it.

Day 1: MCNC ushers in a new wave of innovation

MCNC celebrated past successes, current contributions, and the influential future it has planned for connecting North Carolina in November with the return of MCNC Community Day. MCNC announced on June 16 that it successfully secured funding to expand broadband technologies to unserved and underserved communities in central and southeastern North Carolina. Day 4: New map shows 20 years of network growth for North Carolina

MCNC has strategically invested in the proper upkeep of NCREN over the years. This has allowed MCNC to expand the network, customize technology services and applications, boost security measures, and cost-effectively meet the bandwidth needs of North Carolina communities. On the fourth day of the 12 Days of Broadband, we look at how NCREN got started, the explosive growth of the network over the past 20 years, and highlight how MCNC continues to pursue opportunities to drive innovation and expand broadband for future generations.
