The North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN) makes available high bandwidth point to point transport services for those institutions with direct fiber connectivity to the NCREN backbone. NCREN Layer-1 Transport Service provides a means for NCREN constituents to move voice, video and data traffic across NCREN between their end points while leveraging the dedicated bandwidth and privacy that the Layer-1 Transport Service supplies. In addition, traffic does not share the dedicated lambda with any other constituents. Circuits are available at 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps.
MCNC, via The North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN), provides high-speed 10G and 100G Point-To-Point Ethernet circuits to its constituents via its state of the art DWDM-based optical network. These circuits, which are available at 10G or 100G, provide dedicated bandwidth as each circuit is delivered over a wavelength of light reserved exclusively for its use.
