MCNC is proud to provide many resources and services with NCREN constituents. Joining the NCTN community not only aligns you with one of the nation's first and one of the world's leading statewide regional optical networks, but it also opens the door to a network community with other health care and K-20 education participants. The NCTN is part of a larger statewide NCREN network that provides highly reliable, cost-efficient services.

NCREN Community Portal

MCNC designed and launched the NCREN Community Portal for our customers. Secure information access through login provides our health care and K-20 community a platform to better visualize operational and network performance data. This information-rich resource links our customers to our centralized database service, tools, network performance graphs and tickets for their respective institutions. For NCTN Customers Served Directly by DIT

The DIT Customer Communications Hub is an important resource. You must create an NCID username/password to register and then subscribe to the "WAN subscription list". Go to https://communications.its.state.nc.us/Default.aspx to start.

Customers can also get access to the bandwidth utilization monitoring tools at DIT. Send an email to its.incidents@its.nc.gov with the following information:

  1. Subject: Service Request for Access to VitalSuite (NCTN monitoring)
  2. Body: Please create an account and provide me with instructions to access VitalSuite to actively monitor NCTN site # XXXX (if known), [Name of health care organization]. Please contact Ruthy Mabe (248-1172) with MCNC if any additional information is required.
