NCREN Community Day returns in 2019; Open House in April

12 Days of Broadband 2017 - Day 3MCNC’s signature event, NCREN Community Day, will return in November 2019, at which time we will observe the 35th anniversary of the North Carolina Research and Education Network.

Since the early 1990s, MCNC has offered a face-to-face networking event for our constituents through NCREN Community Day. While networking is at the core of what we do, it’s more than technology. It’s people. It’s how we all can work together to develop exciting results for innovative ideas.

The first NCREN Community Day was held as a Friday gathering primarily focused on updates to projects and initiatives. It has evolved over the years to showcase community networking activities, panel discussions by state and nationally-recognized leaders, presentations from elected and appointed officials, and technology demonstrations. As the NCREN Community grew, attendance also increased. Now, after staging smaller, more informal events in 2017, and with similar events and programming already scheduled in 2018, we are gearing up to host a major milestone event in 2019 when we celebrate 35 years of NCREN.

We welcome your suggestions and ideas while we make our plans for 2019. NCREN Community Day 2019 is sure to be one of the biggest events in our history! In the meantime, take a tour of NCREN Community Day throughout the years.

For 2018, we are organizing several opportunities such as site visits, trainings, listening tours as well as hosting other regional events – all of which are occasions to show our appreciation to you.

Already calendared next year is our 2018 Open House for Thursday, April 19, on the MCNC campus.

Be on the lookout for other great MCNC happenings as well as exclusive sponsorship opportunities and official announcements regarding date, time and location of NCREN Community Day 2019. If you have not received an invitation from MCNC in previous years, please email Darleene Heath to be added to our mailing list.

We look forward to your participation and engagement in our events next year and the years to come.
